He completed his Honors Degree in Geography, and started his career in London, before returning to Ashburton to teach.  Garry found this role beneficial in developing his proficient people skills.  “I spent three and a half years working in a role that required patience, honesty, and enthusiasm, I enjoyed it immensely”.

Garry also worked as a Constable for six years, walking the beat of Christchurch City  before joining  a dedicated investigation team, which led to his becoming experienced in negotiation, networking and public relations. “In the police I learned valuable life lessons”.  A quote that represents Garry and is commonly associated with the police is, ‘integrity is non negotiable’.
